As you explore, you’ll get to try some fantastic local dishes, because what’s a good wine without the right food to go with it? And while you’re sipping and tasting, there’ll be music filling the air, setting the perfect vibe for making new friends or just enjoying the moment. This festival is for everyone – whether you’re a wine connoisseur or just someone who loves a good time.
Event Program
The “Wine and Stories of Berat” festival started with a three-day wine fair right on Republika Boulevard. It was a real treat with 28 wineries from all over Albania and Kosovo setting up their stands, inviting everyone to come and try their wines. People walked around with their wine glass holders, making it super easy to stop by each stand, chat with the winemakers, and taste what they had to offer. One of the big moments of the festival was the wine competition. Were some of the most famous sommeliers on the panel, including Darrel Joseph, who’s known for his knowledge about wines from all over the world. He, along with Rudi Rinaldi and Celeste Di Lizio, had the tough job of picking the winners for the best wine. Darrel Joseph didn’t just judge; he also ran a masterclass where he talked all about wine – how to taste it, what makes each wine special, and stories about the Albanian wine. It was a must for anyone wanting to learn more about wine.

In addition to the wine-focused events, the festival featured cultural tours like the “Jam and Gliko Tour,” “Cheese Making Tour,” “Olive Oil Tour,” and “Dried Fig Tour,” Each one was a chance to see how these local products are made and hear the stories behind them.

The “Wine and Stories of Berat” festival featured live performances by renowned artists and DJs that brought an exciting musical dimension to the event. Kida, Ledri Vula, and Offchestra took the stage on consecutive nights, delivering captivating and energetic shows that left attendees entertained and enthralled. These performances added a dynamic element to the festival, enhancing the overall experience for all participants.

The highlight for many was the “Taste of Berat” night up at the Berat Castle. It was an evening where everything came together – good food, great wine, live music, and the stunning setting of the castle. Master Chef Sokol Prenga put together an amazing dinner that really showed off the best of Berat’s culinary. It was a perfect end to the festival, making it an event to remember.
